Honestly, it is tough being motivated in times like this. It is hard not having very many things to look forward to, and even harder not knowing what the future holds. However, the future is still bright as ever, and these tips to help you be motivated will help you get there in no time.

Reward Yourself in a New Way

So, how do we often see a notification pop up on our phone and immediately drop everything to respond? Way too often. What I have been doing lately as a “reward” is waiting to respond to a notification AFTER I complete a certain task, this way you’ll be less tempted to pick it up and get sidetracked while you work.

Your phone can wait. Use responding to a friend’s text as a “reward” and finish that assignment!

Set Timing Goals

Whether it you try to complete all of your work by 2:00pm, or tell yourself to only spend 20 minutes on an assignment, timing goals are crucial. Set timing goals for yourself that are attainable, but also push you to not spend too long on a specific thing. Keep your day moving!

Set timers for a specific assignment. Push yourself to finish that assignment by the time your timer goes off!

Get The Hard Stuff Outta The Way

What I like to do is start my work day with my biggest (or most boring) assignment, that way when I finish it I the remainder of my work is either 1) things I like to do or 2) is easier and less stressful.

Get the tough work outta the way first, that way the rest of your work is a breeze!

Whatever task you are dreading, just know after you push through and accomplish it you will feel so much better. Try to make yourself proud, and if you can’t, just know I am proud of you and you are doing great!

Stay Smiling,
