Hey guys! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today. Currently I am on a trip to Michigan, so I thought it would be a PERFECT time to show you all my best packing tips for your next big adventure.

I Bet Ya Didn’t Know Ya Needed This

These Amazon Packing Squares are a DREAM and make your packing 1000% more organized. This method of packing makes it so much easier to squeeze everything into your suitcase/duffle because the squares act like perfect pieces to your packing puzzle.

You can seriously put sooooo much stuff in these packing squares

If You Love Something, Let It Go

Ah, this tip is going to be hard to hear, but if you are an over-packer like me, it needs to be said. After you have laid out all the clothes you want to pack, remove at least 1-2 things from each “category” of clothes (ex: shirts). Yes, I know this might be difficult to process, but think about it, do you really need 5 completely different outfits for a two-day girls weekend? Probably not. Personally I always end up removing clothes from the shirt and sweatshirt category because I always pack wayyy too much.

Listen Up, Jewelry Lovers

So if you love having lots of different options for rings, earrings, and necklaces on your trip, this tip is for you. On the journey there,

1) wear your smallest earrings

2) wear all the rings you want to bring

3) wear your nicest necklace.

I like to wear small earrings because larger earrings, like hoops, are harder to lose when you pack! For rings, it is just easiest to wear all the ones you want on the trip so you again don’t lose them. And finally, for necklaces, wear the necklace that you would make you DEVASTATED if it broke. The worst thing ever is when you take out your necklace after a long trek and its completely tangled and ruined.

No Offense, But You Won’t Touch Half of That

LAKE GO-ERS, you will not need to pack a lot of clothes for a trip to the lake! I can guarantee you will:

1) sleep in the same thing every night

2) wear a swimsuit most of the day

3) be dressed very casual

From experience, it is so much easier to bring the basics to the lake rather than a whole wardrobe, because you probably won’t touch half of what is in your suitcase.

I hope this packing tips were helpful so you can enjoy your next trip, wherever it may be! If you would like to see what is happening on my trip to Michigan, make sure to follow me on Instagram @helloainsmo!
